PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select/decide an object by a pointing device with comparatively simple constitution and to easily transmit self-will to a computer. SOLUTION: In a method, an information processor selects/decides the object O that can be instructed by a pointer P by using the pointing device where the pointer P can instruct the arbitrary object O from one or above objects O displayed in a plane or space. The shift locus of the pointer P is inputted as position information on a two-dimensional plane and the selection of the object O instructed when the pattern of the shift locus is matched with a prescribed pattern is decided. When the pointer P passes through the object O, it is judged that the shift locus is matched with the prescribed pattern if the breakaway angleθof the pointer P with respect to the object O takes the valueϕof a specified range.
