PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that can reduce signal processing speed, suppress the effect of a high-frequency noise and synthesize images without distortion. SOLUTION: A imaging pickup element 1 is divided laterally into a left area 1A and a right area 1B, image data SA, SB are read in the same timing from both the areas 1A, 1B, image data SRA at the end of one horizontal period of the left area 1A are added to a start of image data SB for one horizontal period of the right area 1B, image data SRB at start for one horizontal period of the right area 1B are added to the end of the image data for one horizontal period of the left area 1A, image data SBd' of the right area 1B are connected in time series to the image data SAd' of the left area 1A after applying prescribed signal processing to the summed data and eliminating the image data within a blanking time.
