PURPOSE: To remove chlorinated volatile organic compounds in flue gas, an oxidation catalyst that is pretreated with acid is supported with 1 to 10wt.% of a chromic oxide. By passing flue gas through the oxidation catalyst in the oxidizing condition of 200 to 700deg.C, chlorinated volatile organic compounds can be decomposed with CO2, H2O, HCl and Cl2. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing oxidation catalyst comprises the steps of (i) the producing stage of oxidation catalyst by fixing 1 to 10wt.% of chromic oxide on the acid treated natural zeolite support; (ii) the contact stage of flue gas with the oxidation catalyst in the oxidizing condition of 200 to 700deg.C. The natural zeolite is treated with HCl or nitric acid solution and the weight ratio of Si/Al is over 6.
