PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-sintered nickel positive electrode for an alkaline storage battery capable of providing the alkaline storage battery having a good charge-discharge cycle characteristic and large discharge capacity when it is discharged with a large current, provide its manufacturing method and provide an alkaline storage battery using it. SOLUTION: This positive electrode includes a conductive support body, and an active material containing layer disposed on the surface of the support body, and the active material containing layer contains active material powder containing nickel hydroxide and a binder. The binder contains polytetrafluoroethylene wherein a molecular weight is in the range of 1.0×107-1.0×108, and crystallization heat measured by differential scanning calorimetry is in the range of -20 to 0 J/g.
