PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide radio communication equipment having an exchangeable programmable keyboard that can be used easily by the user of the equipment. SOLUTION: The radio communication equipment 10 having an exchangeable key pad is provided with a control circuit configuration having a radio- transmitting and receiving function. A user interface is connected to the circuit configuration in an appropriately operating state and transmits and receives signals to and from the user of the equipment 10. The equipment 10 is also provided with a first input device which has a plurality of buttons, is coupled with the configuration in an appropriately operating state, and can be removed selectively from the configuration. A second input device 100 is provided with a plurality of buttons 101 and connected to the control circuit configuration in an appropriately operating state when the first input device is appropriately separated from the configuration. At least one of the buttons 101 of the second input device 100 has a function of starting radio transmission by using a preprogrammed position identifier when the user presses the button.
