PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain higher cooling efficiency and reasonable manufacturing of a cooling passage in a dynamo-electric machine or a manufacturing method thereof which permits an internal slot of a stator to be used as a refrigerant passage. SOLUTION: A plate 40 is fitted on a plate retaining groove 28 which is formed in the vicinity of an opening part of the slot 25 of a stator 5, and a resin layer 50 is formed in a space 63 which is formed on the outer surface 43 of the plate 40 by injecting resin for filling the space. The plate 40 is pressed against a stopper 27 by a charging pressure of the resin for the intimate contact, thereby sealing the resin off so that it may not leak into the slot 25. The plate 40 is formed with a leg 42 extending into the slot 25. If the plate 40 is deformed, the front end of the leg 42 comes into contact with the bottom of the slot 25, thus restricting deformation of the plate 40.
