SLIP OF SILICON CARBIDE-WATER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing a slip of silicon carbide-water with excellent dispersibility and formability for injection molding is provided. CONSTITUTION: The method includes the steps of mixing silicon carbide powder with alumina and yttria as a sintering aid; mixing 55-65 wt.% of the silicon carbide powder with 35-45 wt.% of water as a dispersion media so as to prepare a slip; adding 0.4-0.7 parts by weight of dispersant(poly ammonium methacrylate) to 100 parts by weight of silicon carbide powder and water slip; and adjusting pH of the slip to pH 8.3-9.5.
