PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection method for a wireless mobile station that can simply detect a position of a wireless mobile station with high accuracy by using one wireless base station only at minimum. SOLUTION: The wireless base station 1 and the wireless mobile station 2 makes communication with each other by using the CDMA system, and a RAKE reception circuit 12 (22) of a transmission reception section 11 (21) is provided with a means that measures a delay profile of a received signal when receiving the signal of the CDMA system. A position detector 3 connected to the wireless base station 1 is provided with a database 32 that cross- references the position information of the wireless mobile station 2 with a delay profile of a transmission/reception signal between the wireless base station 1 and the wireless mobile station 2 and with an arithmetic unit 31, and collates the delay profile of the transmission/reception signal with the delay profile of the database 32 and outputs the position information cross-referenced with the closest delay profile as position information of the wireless mobile station 2.
