PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power-saving fluorescent lamp which can easily reduce power consumption only by substituting a conventional fluorescent lamp. SOLUTION: The fluorescent lamp 301 is equipped with a first filament 2 provided at an end of a luminescent tube 1, a current limiting means 7 having impedance, a first electrode pin 5 connected at an end of the first filament 2 through the first current limiting means 7, a first switch 8 connected parallel to the current limiting means 7, a second switch 9, a second electrode pin 6 connected at the other end of the first filament 2 through the second switch 9, and a control circuit 10 controlling opening and closing of the first switch 8 and the second switch 9. The control circuit 10 closes the first switch 8 and the second switch 9 before lighting of the fluorescent lamp 301 and in a rated lighting period after lighting the fluorescent lamp 301, and opens the first switch 8 and the second switch 9 in a power-saving lighting period after the rated lighting period. |
