PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by allowing a portable telephone set or data terminal equipment which is being operated by a user to acquire information necessary for the user. SOLUTION: In a CDPD mode period, RSSI data and residual battery judgment data measured by a portable telephone set HHP are periodically transferred to a personal computer PC, and displayed at an LCD display 46. In the CDPD mode period, status data indicating the operating state of the personal computer PC are transferred to the portable telephone set HHP, and displayed. In a CSCD mode period, status data indicating the operating state of the portable telephone set HHP are transferred to the personal computer PC, and displayed at the LCD display 46.
