PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for managing power consumption with a master-driven time sharing double radio network using the Bluetooth, HomeRF, etc., using an adaptive probability based polling interval mechanism for discriminating the transition time frame of a device to a low-power mode. SOLUTION: The system includes a means which maintains the service quality requisite of end-to-end packet delay by adjusting the polling interval of each slave in the low-power mode based on the incoming traffic to the slave and, at the same time, optimizes the power consumption.
