PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device/method for transferring data capable of realizing data transfer while controlling a data transfer rate by using a DMA controller in a system for transferring data by using a bus shared by plural devices. SOLUTION: The leading address, the data size and transfer controlling information of the storage area of transferred data can be obtained from a descriptor generated in accordance with the transferred data, a waiting time td is calculated by a set value deciding means 32 based on the transfer controlling information, the initial value N0 of a timer 33 is calculated in accordance with it and the initial value N0 is set to the timer 33 to start the timer 33. When timing by the timer 33 is finished, a flag signal Sf is outputted and a data transfer performing means 34 transfers data based on information obtained by an identifier in response to this, thereby data transfer is realized by a desired transfer rate by using a general-purpose bus.
