The invention relates to a railway profile, especially of the type employed in railway constructions, exhibiting a reduced level of noise radiated through the air when in use. According to the invention, the railway profile with reduced noise level has a cross-section of the rail profile (1) which is symmetrical in relation to the vertical axis (Y). The lower part (31') of the lateral surface (31) of the web (3) of the rail (1) located between the lower connecting edge (32), namely the edge formed in the connection point between the foot (2) of the rail (1) and the lateral surface (31) of the rail web, and the horizontal axis (X) passing through the centroid of the section, exhibits a curved concave connection, free of folding points or zones. In one embodiment, the height (H) of the web of the rail (1) is upper than the height of a standardized rail. In another embodiment, the lateral surface (31) appearing in the cross-section of the rail (1) comprises a lower part (31') and an upper part (31'') having the shape of a circular arc or of an elliptic arc, and can possibly have a flat middle or intermediate part, tangentially connected and located in front of the horizontal axis (X) passing through the centroid. In a last embodiment, the railway profile has the distance (S) measured between the axis (X) passing through the centroid of the rail (1) and the bearing surface (21) of the foot (2) of the rail (1), representing a fraction ranging from 0.47 to 0.41 of the total height (A) of the rail (1). |
