METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ELECTRO-FUSED MAGNESIUM CHROME CLINKERS BY RECYCLING WASTE MAGNESIUM CHROME BRICKS

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for manufacturing electro-fused magnesium chrome(Mg-Cr) clinkers by recycling waste Mg-Cr bricks(RDB-63F) generated from steelmaking industry. CONSTITUTION: The manufacturing method comprises the steps of: separating RDB-63F bricks from waste Mg-Cr bricks, and removing impurities such as mortar, metal, other materials; grinding waste bricks to a size less than 20mm and preferably 1-10mm; feeding the ground Mg-Cr brick powder to arc melting furnace, and fusing at a temperature more than 2000deg.C for less than 4hrs.; cooling slowly and grinding to produce Mg-Cr clinkers including chrome more than 25% which are larger than 100micrometer in size.
