PURPOSE: An illuminating apparatus for vehicle door key hole is provided to allow a user to easily insert a key into the key hole during night time, while preventing outer surface of door from being scratched. CONSTITUTION: An illuminating apparatus comprises a housing(1) formed integrally with the outer periphery of a key holder assembly installed to the outer surface of a vehicle door, and which has an opening exposed outward and a chamber formed inside the housing; an illuminating device fixed to the housing and installed in the opening of the chamber; and a power supply unit for sensing the approach of a key(K) to a light emitting diode(2) and supplying power to the light emitting diode when the approach of key is sensed, and cuts off power when the approach of key is not sensed. The power supply unit includes a movable contact(3) installed within the chamber and electrically connected to one of contacts of the illuminating device; a fixed contact(4) installed to the housing in such a manner as to correspond to the movable contact, and connected to the other contact of the illuminating device; a spring(5) for spacing the movable contact apart from the fixed contact; and the key having a pole same with the magnetic pole of the movable contact.
