There is disclosed a method and a plant for making a fuel consisting of compressed, combustible biological material, e.g. sawdust, and which is extruded as a preferably circular run, which in connection to the extrusion is broken into pieces with varying length, e.g. about 10 - 40 mm, where the fuel pellet is treated, e.g. surface treated, with preferably vegetable oil, e.g. rape oil, which is capable of reacting with the fuel pellet and harden it. By means of simle technical measures is hereby achieved a method and a plant enabling a consistently CO2 neutral fuel pellet with improved fuel properties. After hardening, the fuel pellet is dust-free and furthermore has a significantly increased storage stability (less sensitive to moisture) and increased calorific value (increased with the calorific value of the added oil). For retail sale, the fuel pellets may be packed in bags or sacks for use in private stoker burners or wood-burning stoves. |
