摘要 <p>A spring steel which after heating combines high strength with coilability. The spring steel is characterized in that it consists of 0.4 to 1.2 wt.% carbon, 0.9 to 3.0 wt.% silicon, 0.1 to 2.0 wt.% manganese, up to 0.015 wt.% phosphorus, up to 0.015 wt.% sulfur, up to 2.0 wt.% chromium, 0.001 to 0.07 wt.% nitrogen, and iron and unavoidable impurities as the remainder, and that in the microstructure of the steel after hot rolling, the population of spherical cementite carbide particles having a diameter of 0.2 to 3 νm in terms of the diameter of the corresponding circle is up to 0.5 particles per νm2 and the population of spherical cementite carbide particles having a diameter exceeding 3 νm in terms of the diameter of the corresponding circle is up to 0.005 particles per νm2.</p>
