<p>The use of reverse osmotic membranes to remove some acetic acid from the aqueous acetic acid streams which are generated in the therephthalic acid production is disclosed. The use of these membranes provides a more energy efficient and less capital-intensive method for purifying aqueous streams and obtaining acetic acid for recycling back into the production process.</p> |
