A method for increasing of elasticity and reduction of fragility of mineral fibre, characterized in that to the mineral composition, comprising SiO2, MgO and CaO, and moreover, aluminum oxide in the amount of 16 to 20% by weight and ferric oxides in the amount of 3 to 10% by weight phosphorus in the form of phosphoprous-containing compound in the amount of 0,5-4% by weight, calculated by P2O5 is added, and the melt from the compound is obtained, of which fibres with increased elasticity and reduced fragility are formed. 2. A product according to Claim 1 in which phosphoprous-containing compound in the amount of 0,5-4% by weight, calculated by P2O5 is added to mineral compound, containing % by weight SiO2 38 to 47% Al2O3 16 to 20% TiO2 0 to 4% MgO 5 to 15% CaO 14 to 22% Na2O + K2O 0 to 6% Fe (FeO + Fe2O3) 3 to 10% other elements 0 to 4% 3.
