A genetically modified monocotyledon plant cell (I), comprising introduction of an extraneous polynucleotide (P) such as a polynucleotide with a coding region of a 5061 base pair sequence (S1), a polynucleotide encoding a Solanum tuberosum R1 protein with a 1464 amino acid sequence (S2), a derivative of S1 or a fragment of the polynucleotides, where S1 and S2 are given in specification, is new. A genetically modified monocotyledon plant cell (I), where modification comprises introducing an extraneous polynucleotide (P) such as a polynucleotide having a coding region of a 5061 base pair sequence (S1), a polynucleotide encoding a R1 protein from Solanum tuberosum with a 1464 amino acid sequence (S2), a derivative of S1 or a fragment of the polynucleotides, where S1 and S2 are given in specification, is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) producing (I) comprising introducing an extraneous nucleic acid; (2) a plant (II) containing (I); (3) producing (M) (II), comprising genetically modifying a cell of a monocotyledon plant, where the genetic modification consists of the introduction of an extraneous nucleic acid molecule, and regenerating a plant from the cell; (4) a propagation material (III) for (II) containing (I); (5) use of (P) for the production of (II) or (I); (6) a starch (IV) obtainable from (I) or (II); (7) producing a starch comprising extracting the starch from (II); (8) wheat flour (V) containing (IV) or obtainable from (I), (II) or (III); (9) a baking mixture (VI) which contains (IV) or (V); and (10) a food product (VII) which has been produced using (IV), (V) and/or (VI). |
