Single layer or multiple layer metal strip consists of a base material made from Ni, Cu, Ag or their alloys. The single metal strip and in the case of the multiple layer strip has at least one of its layers containing 10 nm to 5 mu m of large strength-increasing dispersoids consisting of carbides, borides, oxides and/or nitrides with a volume proportion of 0.1-0.5%. In the multiple layer strip, the layers form a composite and at least one of the layer does not contain any dispersoids and has a biaxial texture. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of the metal strip. Preferred Features: The layers of the metal strip are made from a uniform base material or one of the layers differs from the other layers. The dispersoid-containing layer is made from copper, a copper alloy or a nickel alloy and the dispersoid-free biaxially textured layer is made from nickel or a nickel alloy as base material.
