he invention relates to a new ready-to-use lightweight heat-insulating concrete composed of virgin beads of inflated polystyrene reinforced with resins and cement. During the production stage, before packaging and prior to the cement addition, the granules are individually sprinkled (one by one) with organic solution resins. The material has the form of dry mortar, and is characterized in that, although it comes in contact with powdered cement during the production stage it does not harden. Itis quickly applicable and, while drying, no breaches are formed. It is applicable to constructions and guarantees a compact and homogeneous layer ready to receive the coating of tiles ginned thereon. It is used as a final sub-layer in the place of the ordinary rough concrete, and adapted as a heat-insulating layer on balconies, roofs, floors, metal lofts, iron constructions etc. It is extremely light, which involves greater safety in case of earthquake, and exhibits lower shrinkage co-efficient than the ordinary concrete. Mixing is easily effected with any means. |
