A method for the hydrosilylation of compounds with aliphatic multiple carbon-carbon bonds in presence of Sub-Group 8 metal catalysts involves adding organic per-acids from the start or during the reaction. A method for the addition of silicon-linked hydrogen to aliphatic multiple carbon-carbon bonds by reacting (A) compounds with aliphatic multiple C-C bonds with (B) organometallic compounds with hydrogen atoms attached to silicon in presence of (C) Sub-Group 8 metal catalysts involves adding (D) per-acids of formula R<3>-C(O)OOH in which R<3> = optionally substituted hydrocarbyl from the start or during the reaction.
