The invention relates to a visualisation device (30) and a visualisation method for at least one real object (50, especially for a townscape, comprising a sighting means (1) which is displaceably arranged on a stationary bearing device (20) so that said sighting means (1) can be three-dimensionally aligned with a real object (50); and a position detecting means for detecting the three-dimensional orientation of the sighting means (1). The invention is characterised by a data processing means (3) for displaying at least one stored image (12) that has been stored in advance, on a display means (7). Said stored image (12) can be selected in correlation with the three-dimensional orientation (2) of the sighting means, especially automatically. The invention hereby provides a device and a method which are particularly economical and robust enough to be used outdoors.
