The storage container (2) is provided with a strong front plate (21) and has two trapezoidal side panels (23) in order to create a large opening (24) at the top. A drum (26), fitted with two opposite spiraling rows of spikes (27) at its surface is transversally positioned above the outlet (25) at the bottom. The swivel mounted container (2) is pushed into the heap of the material to be distributed, lifted when full and driven to the byre or similar area. A fan (31) positioned underneath the outlet (25) and the drum (26) are activated and the contents of the container (2) can be spread across an area, predetermined by adjusting the opening (35) located below the fan (31).
