The chinstrap for a cycling helmet is made up of individual straps which stretch round the back of the head below the occipital region. A fastener (40) is fitted at the front of these which allows the straps to be adjusted so that the helmet is held tightly on the head, together with adjusters for side pieces (9). The chinstrap is connected to the helmet by vertical straps with hooked ends which have ribs. An Independent claim is included for a helmet fitted with the chinstrap.
