Method for pickling or cleaning rolled steel strip which is moved in the form of loops through several pickling and cleaning containers arranged within the treatment line, wherein, in this connection, at least one strip side is subjected to the action of a pickling or cleaning medium, for which purpose squirting or spraying units are provided which can be switched on or off and/or are adjustable with regard to their spraying width and/or are operated with controllable squirting or spraying pressure and/or volume flow, characterized in that the strip (5), before entering the pickling treatment part or cleaning treatment part (2, 102, 202, 302, 402), is deflected from the horizontal strip running plane into an upright vertical strip running plane and, after exiting from the pickling or cleaning treatment part, is deflected into its normal horizontal strip running plane. 2. Method according to claim 1, characterized in that strip areas, that are scaled, contaminated to different degrees across the strip width (20), are subjected to a targeted spraying with changed spraying pressure and/or changed acid concentration or cleaning solution concentration and/or increased volume flow of the pickling medium or cleaning medium. 3. Device for chemical treatment, for example, pickling or cleaning rolled steel strip (5) which is moved in the form of loops through several pickling and cleaning containers (I, II, III, IV, IVa) arranged within the treatment line, wherein, in this connection, at least one strip side is subjected to the action of a pickling or cleaning medium, for which purpose squirting or spraying units (9) are provided which can be switched on or off and/or are adjustable with regard to their spraying width and/or are operated with controllable squirting or spraying pressure and/or volume flow, in particular, for performing the method of claim 1, characterized by a deflection roll (11; 14) for deflecting the strip (5), respectively before and after the pickling or cleaning treatment card (2, 102, 202, 302, 402), out of the horizontal strip running plane into an upright vertical strip running plane and vice versa, which deflection rolls are elevated or slanted relative to the horizontal. 4. Device according to claim 3, characterized in that the deflecting rolls (11; 14) are correlated with tensioning roll sets (13; 15) supported on vertical axes. 5. Device according to claim 3 or 4, characterized in that at least one of the strip deflecting rolls (10), arranged in the pickling containers or cleaning containers (I to IV), is configured as a control roll (100). 6. Device according to one of the claims 3 to 5, characterized in that at least one of the strip deflecting rolls (10), arranged in the pickling containers or cleaning containers (I to IV) is additionally driven. 7. Device according to claim 5 or 6, characterized in that the strip deflecting rolls (10) have pressing rolls (25) correlated therewith. 8. Device according to one of the claims 3 to 7, characterized in that at least the first pickling containers or cleaning containers (I) in the strip running direction (1) is provided with ultrasound actuators (31). 9. Device according to claim 8, characterized in that the ultrasound actuators (31) are arranged in a narrow separate chamber (33) delimited by sealing rolls (32) at the inlet and outlet sides. 10. Device according to claim 9, characterized in that the ultrasound actuators (31) are distributed across the strip width (20) behind acid-resistant or base-resistant partitions (34) at the end face of the chamber (33), respectively.
