1. A pharmaceutical composition consisting essentially of a dialysis solution containing ferric pyrophosphate deluted in a dialysis solution. 2. A composition according to any of claim 1 wherein the dialysis solution is a bicarbonate-based dialysis solution. 3. A composition according to any of claim 1 or 2 wherein the dialysis solution is an acetate-based dialysis solution. 4. A composition according to any preceding claim wherein the dialysis solution is for hemodialysis and contains from 2 to 50 micrograms of iron per decilitre of dialysis solution. 5. A composition according to any of claims 1-4 wherein the dialysis solution is for peritoneal dialysis and contains up to 500 micrograms of iron per decilitre of dialysis solution. 6. A method of iron administration during dialysis to a patient including administering a dialysis solution to a patient according to any of the preceding claims. 7. A method of modifying hematologic parameters by transfer of ferric pyrophosphate from the dialysis solution to the blood compartment during the process of dialysis, wherein said dialysis solution is a composition according to any of claims 1 to 5. 8. A pharmaceutical composition of ferric pyrophosphate soluable in a dialysis solution, suitable for preparing a composition according to any of claims 1 to 5. |
