A hearing aid receiver adapted for automated processing by the use of through-hole and surface mounting characteristics on the receiver assembly. The receiver can include a housing, a bobbin disposed within the housing upon which a coil is wound, and at least two leads being held by the bobbin. The leads extend through at least one opening in the housing with opposite ends of the coil being electrically connected to respective leads.
