PURPOSE: An electrostatic generating type high voltage generating apparatus is provided to simplify structure and reduce cost, while permitting direct current or pulse voltage to be directly generated. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a cylindrical charged body(10) formed of a material having a charging property produced by a friction, and which has an outer periphery grounded by a conductor and both sides coupled to a cover(11); a friction charged body(20) coupled to an outer periphery of a rotating shaft(21) which is supported at the cover coupled to both sides of the cylindrical charged body, so as to friction-contact an inner periphery of the cylindrical charged body, wherein the friction charged body is formed of a material having a property opposite to the charging property of the cylindrical charged body; a conductor rod(40) having an end penetrated through the cylindrical charged body and connected to a load(30) to be electrified to the load; and a discharge terminal(50) disposed to have a discharge gap(L) between the other end of the conductor rod and the discharge terminal, and grounded to be electrified to the load.
