inorganic chemistry, chemical technology, metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves an interaction of aluminium-containing and fluorine-containing reagents in an aqueous solution. Alum is used as an aluminium-containing agent and alkaline metal fluoride is used as a fluorine-containing agent. Potassium fluoride or rubidium fluoride can be used as an alkaline metal fluoride. To obtain the maximal conversion of aluminium and fluorine to fluoroaluminates alum and alkaline metal fluorides are taken for interaction based on the ratio of atomic mass in solution F : Al = (3-6) : 1. Alumopotassium alum and potassium fluoride are taken for interaction in optimal ratio of atomic mass in solution F : Al = (4-5) : 1 and for alumorubidium alum and rubidium fluoride in optimal ratio of atomic mass in solution F : Al = (5-6) : 1. Method provides the maximal isolation of components as useful products. Fluoroaluminates are used in chemical current sources, catalysts, optical covers as modifying addition agent in electrolytic production of metals, special alloys and materials based on the latter, fluxes for soldering and welding of aluminium and its alloys.
