摘要 To transfer a yarn (1) from a fully-wound bobbin to the bobbin sleeve of the next bobbin for winding, at a bobbin winder, the rotation of the full bobbin (4s) is braked when the new bobbin sleeve (4a) is swung into position for winding. To transfer the yarn from a full bobbin to the next empty bobbin sleeve, at a bobbin winder, the initial deceleration of the full bobbin on braking is /-2 m/sec<2> and preferably /-2.5 m/sec<2> in relation to the bobbin periphery. The deceleration time, until the full bobbin is at rest, is <= 10 secs. and preferably <= 5 secs. The specific linear deceleration is 0.002-0.004 sec-1 and preferably 0.003-0.0035 sec-1. The new, empty sleeve is rotated up to a nominal rotary speed before it is swung into the winding position.. The rotary speed of the full bobbin is measured, at least before the yarn is transferred. An Independent claim is included for a bobbin winder with a mechanism to apply an active brake action on the full bobbin, when it is shifted out of the winding position. Preferred Features: The brake system brings the full rotating bobbin to a stop in <= 10 secs. and preferably <= 5 secs. The bobbin drive motor has the brake system. The new sleeve is rotated up to a nominal rotary speed by a motor, before it is swung into the winding position. The rotary speeds are monitored by speed transmitters and sensors.
