A stapler (10) that has a first former (68) configured for forming a staple to a first crown size and a second former (70) configured for forming a staple to a second crown size that is different than the first crown size. The stapler (10) also has an actuation mechanism (66) operatively associated with the first and second formers (68, 70) to selectively operate the fist or second formers (68, 70), in the first and second configurations respectively, to form the staples.
