plastic working of metals. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has casing adapted for embracing coupling and incorporating blocks arranged inside it, and mechanism for applying force to coupling to be squeezed. Casing is composed of parallel disks rigidly joined by fingers. Disks are equipped with central opening for mounting coupling to be squeezed. Radial slots on disk inner surfaces are in facing relation one with respect to the other. Blocks are arranged for radial displacement inside slots and spring-loaded to centers of disks. Mechanism for applying force to coupling is formed of longitudinal levers and connecting web having central portion and forked ends with axial openings. Forked ends define openings where inner ends of longitudinal levers are pivotally mounted. Inner ends of levers are joined with their outer ends through connecting portion. Casing is positioned between longitudinal levers, whose intermediate portions are mounted for sliding relative to disks. EFFECT: increased efficiency and simplified construction. 11 dwg
