The invention relates to a pressure medium reservoir (10) for hydraulic units in which the wall sections (12a, 13a; 12b, 15b; 13c, 14c; 14d, 15d) are adhered to one another. The thickness (a) of the adhesive layer is selected in such a manner as to effect an optimal sound damping and, at the same time, to prevent the permissible stress caused by shear force from being exceeded. A sheet metal with a plastic coat is preferably used in order to greatly reduce the emission of noise.
