The hinge has interacting cylindrical wedge faces (8,7) on the hinge pin (4) and in the hinge plate (2) which in turn have several interacting flat grooves (16) running along the sleevelines. The width of the teeth (15) between the grooves is less than the width of the grooves and the depth of the grooves is a fraction of the pitch height of the wedge faces.
