tobacco industry. SUBSTANCE: tobacco cutting machine has top forming device made in the form of cylindrical auger mounted on horizontal shaft and located in immovable casing. Auger is made multiple threaded, with decreasing coil pitch. Longitudinal spiral slots and ribs are formed on casing internal surface. Cutting head of each disk-type rotating knife is provided with sharpening device made in the form of hard-alloy rollers, which are periodically brought into contact with knives. EFFECT: increased efficiency in grinding tobacco, improved quality of cut tobacco and reduced tobacco losses. 3 cl, 1 dwg
