<p>A method and a system for controlling transmission power capable of recovering the required SIR calculated by a terminal station as soon as possible from a value larger than necessary to the normal one. In this transmission power controlling system for adjusting transmission power of a base station according to a power control signal received from the terminal station, the terminal station comprises an error detecting means for outputting the result of error detection of a received signal, a reception quality estimating means for generating the reception SIR (signal to interference noise ratio) obtained from the received signal, a reception quality averaging means for averaging the output signal from the reception quality estimating means and outputting an averaged received SIR, a reception quality setting means for generating a required SIR from the received SIR and the error detection result, and a power control signal generating means for adaptively generating the power control signal from the received SIR and the required SIR.</p> |
