The feed for raising solids concentration in a pneumatic conveyor has a housing with an inlet (2) and outlet (3) for the feed stream. The inlet and outlet are connected by a sieve pipe (5) which has at least one discharge opening for the conveying fluid. The fluid pressure loss along the inner bore (A) is less than that in the flow (B) between the casing and sieve pipe. The gap between the casing and sieve pipe can have metal infill spheres.
