PURPOSE: An access system capable of supporting various data layers is provided to achieve access for various layers by adding a WAN(Wide Area Network) access processing module part to a generic access system. CONSTITUTION: An access system capable of supporting various data layers is comprised of a user access processing module part(33), a central control processing module part(40), and a WAN access processing module part(41). The user access processing module part(33) contains an analog access processing part(30), a digital access processing part(31), and a LAN access processing part(32). The analog access processing part(30) executes the access processing of an equipment by analog data. The digital access processing part(31) executes access processing for an equipment like a digital private exchange. The central control processing module part(40) comprises a TDM switching part(34), a voice processing part(36), and a processor module part(37). The TDM switching part(34) covers the switching between TDM buses. The voice processing part(36) compresses transmitting voice data and decompresses received voice data. The processor module part(37) supports an ATM-layer segmentation and reassembly function, and includes a UTOPIA bus. The WAN access processing module part(41) comprises a frame conversion processing part(38) and a physical access processing part(39). The frame conversion processing part(38) contains a framer part and a deframer part. The physical access processing part(39) converts frame data into an electrical signal or an electrical signal, received through an external physical medium, into frame data.
