A suspension having a head that is not likely to be affected by torsion occurring in the suspension, and a disk device. The suspension comprises a load beam for pressing the head against a record carrier, a flexure for supporting the head, and a dimple for bringing the load beam into a point contact with the flexure so as to permit pitching and rolling around the head, wherein the load beam comprises a spring unit for applying a pressing force, a rigid unit extending from the spring unit toward a side opposite to a head arm and having a rigidity higher than the spring unit in the direction of changing the distance between the head arm and a disk, and a balance unit connected to the dimple, extending from the rigid unit toward a side opposite to the spring unit and having a rigidity higher than the rigid unit in that direction.
