The invention relates to a television broadcast system and a method for broadcasting television commercials. According to the invention, at least one teletext page containing additional information relating to these commercials is broadcast along the television commercials. A television commercial preferably comprises a prompt (21) recommending a user to change over to a teletext mode. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, during a commercial break, the additional information is placed on a teletext starting page (32) displayed by default when the user activates the teletext mode. The additional information displayed on the teletext page changes according to the television commercials.
