The box (30) in the shape of a card comprises upper and lower shells (32,34) between which the intermediate printed circuit board (36) is installed. A connector (64) provided for a contact integrated circuit card (C) has an insulating support (66) on the upper surface (37) of the board. The upper shell (32) incorporates a slot (80) for the circuit card which when inserted is contained completely within the box. It is enclosed at least partially in a recess (70) in the support which has contacts (76) in its base for conductive tracks (74) on the underside of the card.
