PURPOSE: Provided are diglycolic diamide derivatives having a cholanic acid ring and their manufacturing mouthed and use as a host material in host-guest chemistry, particularly an ion sensor. CONSTITUTION: The diglycolic diamide derivative contains a cholanic acid ring represented by the formula(1) and selected from N,N-dioctyl-3α, 7α, 12α-tris-N-heptyl-N-methylcarbamoylmethoxyacetylaminoacetoxy-5β-cholan-24-amide and N,N-dioctyl-3α, 12α-bis-N-heptyl-N-methylcarbamoylmethoxyacetylaminoacetoxy-5β-cholan-24-amide, wherein R1 and R3 represent N-heptyl-N-methylcarmoylmethoxyacetylaminoacetoxy and R2 represents N-heptyl-N-methylcarbamoylmethoxyacetylaminoacetoxy.
