PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photo-sensitive and heat-sensitive recording material capable of recording image in the visible light region, having good whiteness of the ground and capable of forming high contrast image, to provide a method for recording the image and to obtain a visible light-polymerizable composition usable for the recording material. SOLUTION: This photo-sensitive and heat-sensitive recording material uses a visible light-polymerizable composition comprising a polymerizable monomer, a visible light absorbing dye, an organic borate compound and an organic compound in which solubility of the visible light absorbing dye is 0.005 mass% or more and/or solubility of the organic borate is 0.05 mass% or more.
