<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart flexibility to a conduit by separately forming a flexible joint from a propelling pipe to impart large bendability to the joint, and interposing the flexible joint pipe between the propelling pipes as needed. SOLUTION: Annular end members 2 each having a propelling force transfer flange at its edge are disposed so as to face to each other with an interval therebetween, and both the end members are connected together by an accordion body 20 which is fixed to the interior of each accordion chamber 23 arranged in the end member 2. The accordion chamber 23 has its upper portion covered with an external cover 3 formed of hard rubber and has its lower portion covered with an internal cover 4 obtained by sheathing a metallic core with soft rubber. Therefore, the accordion chamber has large bendability imparted thereto, and functions to cut off water from the joint. In order to transfer a propelling force by bypassing the accordion body 20, the end members 2 are connected together by a circumferentially arranged propelling force transmitting member 21 device. Then, a protective agent is injected into the accordion chamber 23 covered with the internal and external covers 3 and 4, to thereby completely implement the cutoff of the flexible joint.</p> |
