PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a useful metal container for food, especially an aluminum container for rice whose main body food can be heated and cooked adequately speedily, and then the food stored airtightly therein is heated together with the main body for eating the food deliciously. SOLUTION: This metal container comprises a metal (e.g. aluminum) container main body 2 whose innermost layer is a heat resistant resin layer 2e and a metal (e.g. aluminum) container cover 3 heat welded to the open end part 2b of the container main body 2 covering the top end opening 2a of the main body 2. The opening end part 2b of the main body 2 and the cover 3 are heat sealed able to be pealed on an interface between a sealant layer 4 and the resin layer 2e through the sealant layer 4 formed on the cover 3.
