PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink composition for ink jet that prevents blurring of printed characters or images and improve drying property while maintaining a high OD value and that has good ejection properties and excellent aging stability. SOLUTION: The aqueous ink composition for ink jet comprises at least a pigment, a pigment dispersant, a water-soluble organic compound having a boiling point of not lower than 150 deg.C, water and a compound represented by formula (I) (each of R1, R2, R3 and R4 denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; m, n, o and p each independently denote an integer; and the total of m, n, o and p is 4 to 30), wherein the concentration of the water-soluble organic compound is 5-30 wt.%; the concentration of the compound is 1-20 wt.%; and a ratio of the water-soluble organic compound to the compound is in the range of 20:1-1:3. |
