PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ablation material admissible at a relatively low cost for a rocket motor. SOLUTION: An ablation material (for instance, heat insulating liner, bulk material, etc.), for a rocket motor is formed of one or a plurality of polyarylamides constituted by a suitable reinforcing structure like a yarn, flock and/or felt as a precursor of carbon reinforced structure. An Aramid yarn can be prepared by applying twist work/spinning work to an Aramid filament and/or applying carding work and yarn spinning work to Aramid staple fiber. Particularly, this heat insulating material, in the case of a rocket motor nozzle, can be used as a heat shield under a condition comparable with the heat shield of viscose rayon of a continuous filament. |
