PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance radiographic film which exhibits visually adaptive contrast when imaged in a radiographic imaging assembly combined with a intensifying screen. SOLUTION: The radiographic film has two or more silver halide tabular grain emulsions on each face of a film support, and the emulsion closest to the film support on each face contains a material for suppressing crossover and a rhodium dopant and has photographic sensitivity higher than that of the other emulsion. The film is rapidly processed to provide a black-and-white image having a peak gamma of >3.1 while maintaining a high gamma of > 1.0 up to a value of -0.9 logE contained in the toe of a density D vs. logE sensitometric curve.
